Dr Kenneth Kaunda District sales at SA Tourism Expo
The three day Tourism Indaba in Durban, South Africa has ended with over 14
000 business meetings having taken place among tourism operators, experts and
policy makers.
Over 5000 exhibitors from across the continent also took part at Africa’s biggest tourism expo.
The event is a platform where serious tourism operators on the continent case showcase their products to the outside world.
Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality was among the tourism destinations showcased at the Indaba. The municipality of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District of South Africa is one of the 4 districts of North West province of South Africa, boasting of several tourism products. The district administers quiet well know that the name on its own is a catch enough and that is why it is being used as a flagship to woo travellers. Chairperson for the Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality Tourism association, Joseph Tshamboko spoke highly of the need to use African heroes in tourism products.
South Africa Tourism, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Sthembiso Dlamini was also one of the key speakers at many discussions during the Indaba, stressing the point that tourism is the future of Africa’s economic growth.
With platforms like the Durban Tourism Indaba yielding positive growth, experts predict that Africa will increase tourists up to 130 million by the year 2030 from the current 50 million travellers annually.
